David Wayne Jackson, 70, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born December 5, 1946 in Rockwood, TN, the son of Clint Matthew Jackson and Leona Annette Meadows Jackson.
Mr. Jackson served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War era.
He retired from Boeing where he was a welder. Mr. Jackson was a long-time member of the VFW at the Eagles Club. He was very patriotic and loved eagles and what they stood for. He was also an avid UT football fan and enjoyed woodworking. His passion in life was his love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for they are what kept him going.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Devona Hargraves.
He is survived by Sons, David Matthew "Mac" Jackson and wife Jennifer of Clinton, Chuck Thomas of Jacksboro and Pastor Chris Thomas and wife Bridget of Lafollette;
Daughter, Michelle Jackson of Chattanooga; 16 Grandchildren, Dustin, Andrew and Jessica Stephens and Brandon Peterson, all of Chattanooga, Brianna Ebeler and husband Alexander, DeeAnna Smith, Destiny, Emily, Matthew and Zackary Jackson, all of Clinton, Michaela, Chandler, Colby Thomas of Lafollette, Haley Thomas of Sevierville, Chuckie Thomas of Knoxville and Chelsea Thomas of Blaine;
7 Great-Grandchildren, Logan and Bailey Stephens, Aiden and Rileigh Ebeler, Ellie Mae Thomas, Corbin Gullord and Adlee Noel and Isaiah Trent and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 5 – 7pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 7pm with Pastor Toby Geren and Pastor Chris Thomas officiating. Family and friends will meet on Sunday at 2pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for a graveside service.
