Lillie Enochs of Oak Ridge, passed away on September 8, 2012 at the age of 100 years.

She was born to parents David Bennett and Nettie Eugenia Cornatzer Dungan on July 4, 1912. She grew up in Humboldt, Tennessee, the youngest of seven children, all of who preceded her in death.

After completing Nurses Training and becoming a Registered Nurse in 1932, she worked in the office of Dr. McLaren, MD in Jackson, Tennessee and in the local hospital.

On May 5, 1936 she married John McNeil Enochs in Jackson and they moved from Jackson to Oak Ridge with their two children in 1943. Lillie was a charter member of New York Avenue Church of Christ, the last of the charter members surviving. She was a dedicated Christian who worked with the Thursday Bible School program for twenty-five years.

In 1974, Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, John , who worked as an Operator and then a fire captain with the Y-12 and X-10 facilities from 1943 until his retirement in 1972.

Her survivors include:
Son, Samuel David Enochs;
Daughter, Nettie Jean Enochs, both of Oak Ridge;
Grandchildren, Donna Roach (Charles) and
Karen Carroll (John);
Great-grandchildren, Katie Roach,
Kathryn Carroll, and Jack Carroll.

The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, 2 PM with Harold Scott officiating. Interment will be follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to New York Avenue Church of Christ, Thursday Bible School, 219 New York Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830 or to the East Tennessee Alzheimer's Association. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 – 2 pm at Weatherford Mortuary. An online guest book may be signed at weatherfordmortuary.com
